Elephants to me.

They personify the journey of my life, the huge intimidating size of an elephant, and says that no matter what happens we can still stand up and fight. The wrinkles on the skin show the time and experience that one has had. Their eyes speak so loud that one does not need to understand their language, one can feel what they say.

They represent wisdom in the form of Lord Ganesh. Ganesh symbolizes strength, power, royalty, success, and eternity. The elephant is one of the sacred animals in the Hindu religion and also one of my most important reasons for using an elephant to personify life.

My work is about, faith that one puts in his/her culture and balances themselves on that one faith, that ‘one day they will be somewhere, where they truly want to be’.

The uncomfortable or unrealistic pose of the elephant in some of my works depicts the need to reach someplace better to make something more permanent and firm. Every artwork has its own struggle and its own success in its story.
